Do we live in a "fear-based" society? Callers, John and Josh discuss topics surrounding gun control, 2nd Amendment rights, control via fear, fear mongering in an election year, and more.

A headline from an affluent news organization on Monday says the White House isn't considering stricter gun control laws.  A headline from another affluent news organization the same day says the White House is considering stricter gun control laws.  Digital communications (E-mails, Facebook posts, Tweets) say the U.S. leads the world in gun homicides and the tragedy in Colorado shows why we need stricter gun control laws, while others say the government is using the tragedy in Colorado as a way to take peoples' guns.  People flock to gun shops - some worried that the government is going to tighten down on gun control, others worried about the safety of their family and themselves.  What does it all mean?

Josh says it simply means it's an election year.  Rational conversation about complex issues has a tendency to go directly to mudslinging, rock-throwing, and worse, instead of battling with words to find common ground.  And is this someone's fault, or the result of an entire society of fear?  Or can it be categorized?
