Chef Lalanne and Josh talk about corn. Different uses, preparations, cooking styles... YUM! Josh also speaks with the Executive Director and Marketing Manager for the Nebraska State Fair.

Chef Lalanne and Josh talk about corn.  Sweet corn stands can be found on many corners in nearly every community in the Midwest right now, so it's an opportune time to take advantage of the world's largest crop - corn.  Grill it.  Boil it.  Dry it and grind it.  Eat it with butter and black pepper, inside salsas, as a pancake or fritter, or even as a dessert.  Cream it, sauté, boil, bake, grill...  So versatile.  So tasty.  Experiment and have fun.  And if you have any specific questions regarding corn preparations, email us, facebook us or call us (308.284.6100).

Nebraska State Fair Executive Director Joseph McDermott and Marketing & Sponsorship Director Shaun Schleif stopped by the station to update us on the 2012 Nebraska State Fair.  Some new things this year include a tram that travels over the fairgrounds, and a smart phone app that includes a schedule, GPS locater (for finding certain items and/or people in our out of your party), and some other really cool features.

The Nebraska State Fair is August 24 - September 3 in Grand Island.  Find more on their website.
