Chef Lalanne and Josh talk about farmers' markets and utilzing all the funky fresh goodness. Josh also speaks with Robin Miller with the Food Network about farmers' markets and fresh summer recipes.

Farmers' markets.  More and more people are migrating to their local farmers' markets to pick up the latest, freshest produce, baked goods, and many other food items.  Check with your local chamber to find out about the nearest farmer's market near you.  Chef Lalanne and Josh talk about some of the benefits, and the personal experiences with farmers' markets.

Here's what we know, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture:

Ogallala Farmers' Market
Location: Corner of 2nd and A St, Ogallala
Hours: Saturdays, 7 a.m. − 12 p.m.

Grant Farmers' Market
Location: 800 Central Ave, City Park Turnaround, Grant
Hours: Fridays, 7:30 - 10:30 a.m.

North Platte Farmers’ Market

Location: Parkade Plaza, 6th and Dewey St and North Platte Mall on Chestnut St
Hours: Parkade Plaza, June – October, Tuesdays, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. In September and October, the Saturday market will be open 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. North Platte Mall, June – October, Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Cheyenne County Farmers' Market
Location: 10th and Hickory St, Sidney
Hours: July − Saturdays, 7 − 11 a.m.

McCook Main Street Farmers' Market
Location: McCook
Hours: July − September, Saturdays, 8 a.m. − sellout

Julesburg Farmers' Market
Location:  Julesburg Park
Hours:  Thursdays, 8 a.m. - sellout
