This week is set aside to encourage Nebraskans and those across the country to save for the future. This is America Saves Week and Susan Shockey with the National Institute of Food and Agriculture says they are partnering with local Cooperate Extension offices to spread the word.

They hope to encourage and support more Americans to set a savings goal, come up with a plan and put money away for a rainy day. Statistics show that only 66% of all Americans spend less than their income and save the difference and only 52% think they are saving enough for retirement.
This is America Saves Week. Susan Shockey with the National Institute of Food and Agriculture says they are teaming with local Cooperative Extension offices to spread the word and encourage more people to save money.

Shockey says they hope to encourage Americans to save a portion of all tax refunds for future use and to pay off high interest debt. They also encourage more people to open IRA's or to have another retirement account.
