Gasoline prices have taken giant leaps in Nebraska lately, rising 20 cents a gallon in some cities in the past week and more than 30 cents a gallon in the past month. Gail Weinholzer, spokeswoman for Triple-A-Nebraska, says there are two primary reasons for the price hikes.

Triple-A says the statewide average price for gas is now three-48 a gallon, which is five-cents cheaper than the national average.
Gas prices are averaging three-48 a gallon in Nebraska, up 20-cents a gallon in the past week and 30-cents in the past month. Gail Weinholzer, at Triple-A-Nebraska, says we'll likely be in for more pump price hikes in the weeks ahead.
Weinholzer "some time"
Weinholzer blames a combination of crude oil price hikes and refinery closures, including two refineries in the Chicago area that would impact gas supplies in much of the Midwest.
