An educator from Perkins County Schools in Grant has accepted an offer to become the next superintendent at Shelby-Rising City Public Schools
DAVID CITY -- An educator from Perkins County Schools in Grant has accepted an offer to become the next superintendent at Shelby-Rising City Public Schools.
Chip Kay was selected from among four candidates and will begin work in July after the departure of Larry Stick, who has been the superintendent since 2003.
Kay is activities director, assistant principal and technology director at Perkins County, and also has been the head Football coach for the last 6 years at Perkins County.
Shelby and Rising City merged in the 2010-11 school year. Kay started his last job three years after Grant and Wheatland merged to form Perkins County Schools in 2004.
A native of Papillion, he graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1992.
Kay and his wife, Jeanne, have three daughters.
