Nebraska farmers can sign up soon for two safety net programs. Juan Garcia is the director of the Farm Service Agency and says both are extensions from the old Farm Bill.

Nebraska farmers can sign up soon for two safety net programs. Juan Garcia is the director of the Farm Service Agency and says both are extensions from the old Farm Bill.

Garcia says one change is farmers that had been enrolled in the ACRE program through September of 2012 can now enroll in the Direct and Counter Cyclical Payment Program or re-enroll in the ACRE program for 2013.

ACRE program sign up deadline is June 3rd. For the DCP program the deadline is August 2nd. If you sign up now and decide you want to switch programs that will be allowed until the deadline dates.

Sign up for two farm safety net programs starts February 19th. Juan Garcia is the director of the Farm Service Agency says both the Direct and Counter-cyclical Payment Program and the Average Crop Revenue Election Program are extensions of the Farm Bill but there are a few changes.
