DENVER (AP) - It's iPad day in Colorado Legislature. The state's 100 lawmakers are training on new tablet computers as the state tries to modernize.

Lawmakers who don't know how to use iPads are having tablet training Friday. Legislative leaders hope to dramatically cut down on printing and paper costs by 2014.

Colorado is one of 16 states trying to cut down on paper and printing by ordering tablets for some or all lawmakers. The tablets are already used by many lawmakers and could trim printing costs. It currently takes an entire printing shop to keep up with legislation and amendments, and state budgets are sometimes the size of phone books.
