Nebraska Cattlemen to award outstanding steward

Nebraska Cattlemen are looking to recognize an ethical land steward.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska Cattlemen are looking to recognize an ethical land steward.
 
     The group is now accepting nominations for the Leopold Conservation Award.
 
     The ideal candidate must be an outstanding landowner who uses sustainable means to manage natural resources. 
 
     It was created to honor the late author Aldo Leopold. The winners will be announced on April 19, and will be presented with $10,000 and an Aldo Leopold crystal at the Nebraska Cattlemen's Annual Convention in Kearney in December.
 
     The application is open until March 1. Nominations from organizations and self-nominations will be accepted until March 1. Nomination forms and applications are available on the Nebraska Cattlemen's website.
