Nebraska Department of Labor Commissioner Catherine Lang says by using an on-line system they can also check to see requirements are being met. Those receiving benefits must use their online work search log twice a week and now they can monitor usage. Employers can also complete unemployment tax and benefit functions online. The Nebraska Department of Labor is using technology to help those receiving unemployment benefits to file weekly claims. Commissioner Catherine Lang says claims are now filed at dol.nebraska.gov. She says this technology is helpful to them to make sure that those receiving benefits are actually using their online work search log.

That website is NEworks.nebraska.gov. Those who do not have a computer are encouraged to file their claims at local public libraries or one of 15 Department of Labor locations throughout the state.
For the first time in Nebraska anyone who files a weekly unemployment insurance claim will do so online. Department of Labor Commissioner Catherine Lang says this will make filing claims easier and could actually help those needing work find a job.
