A series of disturbances at a store in Julesburg led to the arrest of one man Wednesday.

According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a tip from the public saying a man was harassing girls in the parking lot of the Family Market.  Shortly after the tip, authorities received a complaint that the same person had entered the grocery store acting belligerently.

Two Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the store where they met with two juvenile females.  One of the females reported being accosted by a Hispanic male earlier in the day.

Upon witness identification, 21 year old Victor Juarez, of Julesburg, was taken into custody.  He appeared before County Court Judge James Wittler and was advised of his rights and presented with his charges.

Juarez is charged with two counts of 2nd degree assault on an officer, a class 4 felony; two counts of obstruction of a police officer, a class 2 misdemeanor; harassment, a class 3 misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class 1 petty offense.  All of the counts, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, have the potential for large fine and extensive jail time.  The district attorney’s office has seven days to file formal charges.

Juarez remains in custody on a $20,000 bond.
