U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg says Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Boeshart will lead the efforts of her office to ensure the integrity of Nebraska's elections next month.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Boeshart will serve as district election officer and oversee the Nebraska district's handling of complaints of election fraud and voting rights abuses, in consultation with Justice Department headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Gilg says the goals of the department's Election Day Program include deterring election fraud and discrimination at the polls and prosecuting offenders.

Boeshart will be on duty in Lincoln while the polls are open Nov. 6 and can be reached at (800) 889-9123 or (402) 437-5241.

Complaints about ballot access problems or discrimination can be made directly to the Civil Rights Division's Voting Section in Washington at 1-800-253-3931 or (202) 307-2767.
