Authorities say a man who'd been chased by North Platte police has died after a crash on Interstate 80 in western Nebraska.

BRADY, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says the accident occurred about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday near Brady.

State trooper J.J. Connelly says 28-year-old Floriberto Parra-Munoz, of North Platte, was killed after the car he was driving entered the median and rolled, ejecting him. Connelly says he suspects Parra-Munoz had been drinking alcohol.

North Platte police officer Rodney Brown says Parra-Munoz was pursued earlier Wednesday morning by another North Platte officer. Brown says Parra-Munoz had driven away from a convenience store without paying for $50 worth of gas.
