This is National Teen Driver Safety Week and Triple-A is out with a new report regarding fatal crashes involving 16 and 17 year old drivers.

Nebraska spokesperson Rose White says they looked at data from 2005 through 2010 and the more passengers in the car the greater the chance of a deadly accident.

Rose White:

White says Nebraska Statistics for 2011 show teenage drivers were involved in 21-percent of all accidents but represented only seven-percent of all drivers. They were also involved in 25-percent in all night time accidents and accidents where speeding was a factor they were involved in thirty-three-percent of all crashes. Triple-A urges parents to get involved in the driving process and during those early driving years restrict the number of passengers allowed inside that vehicle.
