As of October 14th, 79% of the corn crop harvested and USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says that is a record.
USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says 79% of the crop is out of the field but that could slow as much needed rainfall is in the forecast.
Brad Rippey: 
Rippey says we have to go back all the way back to 1987 to even come close to the record harvest of this year. On October 14th of that year 66% of the crop had been harvested.
