Cool weather has moved into Nebraska, with the western part of the state getting the first snowfall of the season.

Low temperatures over the weekend hovered around the freezing mark for much of the state. They dropped lower in western Nebraska with the wind chill slipping into the low teens.

State Climatologist Ken Dewey with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln cautions against making too much of the weather this past weekend.

Ken Dewey:

Much of the snowfall in western Nebraska was very wet.

Dewey says no one can know at this time whether the drought will end this winter.
