A western Nebraska man has been given 90 days in jail for impersonating a police officer.

SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) - Twenty-five-year-old Bobby O'Reiley, of Mitchell, had pleaded guilty. Court records say O'Reiley was sentenced on Monday and given credit for 71 days already served.

O'Reiley was arrested after he tried to pull over a car on Interstate 80 near Sidney on June 3. Authorities say a motorist called the Nebraska State Patrol and reported a driver was tailgating another car, flashing the headlights and showing a badge of some sort.

The patrol says a trooper stopped the car and found O'Reiley had a security badge, a handgun and two cans of a tear gas spray.
