The recent steamy heat is lingering across much of Nebraska, and at least 22 more daily high temperature records were broken in the state on Wednesday.

BENKELMAN, Neb. (AP) - Triple-digit temperatures were common across Nebraska Wednesday with Benkelman hitting 114.

Culbertson recorded a high of 112, and Big Springs hit 111.

Sweltering temperatures were also recorded on the eastern end of the state. Omaha topped out at 102, and Norfolk and Columbus both reached 103 for their highs.

All the new records set Wednesday come after at least 18 records were set in Western Nebraska over the past week.

The National Weather Service continues to warn of dangerous heat across southern Nebraska Thursday. Even though high temperatures should remain in the 90s, humidity will make it feel warmer.
