Authorities are investigating reports of damage to homes and minor injuries following up to three early-morning tornadoes in southeast Colorado.
EADS, Colo. (AP) - The Kiowa County Sheriff's Office says a resident in a home near Chivington was rescued after being briefly trapped. The victim is being treated for minor injuries.
Kiowa County emergency manager Jeffrey Wright says authorities are going home to home to locate residents.
Chris Sorensen, spokesman for the Colorado Division of Emergency Management, says tornadoes were reported early Friday in Prowers, Kiowa and Bent counties.
He says authorities are not aware of any major injuries. He says emergency management officials are assessing damage.
