Nebraska's unemployment rate dipped in March to 4 percent, again giving the state the second-lowest rate in the country.
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The state's preliminary March rate is slightly better than the revised February rate of 4.1 percent. The national rate also improved from February's 8.3 percent to 8.2 percent in March.
State Labor Commissioner Catherine Lang says Nebraska's continued low jobless rate is good news for the future economy.
The number of unemployed people in Nebraska was estimated at 40,399 in March. That was a drop from 41,113 in February and from 44, 763 in March 2011. The total workforce in the state is just more than 1 million.
