Concerns for her mother's health are forcing her to put off the trip
Listen to Jo Dee Messina on iHeartRadio
Jo Dee Messina is postponing her Canadian tour. Later this month the country star was planning to head north of the border, and spend two-and-a-half weeks performing across the country. But the singer says in a Facebook post that concerns for her mother are forcing her to put off the trip.
Messina's mom underwent open heart surgery late last month, and her recovery has been slow going. The singer says it's "a day by day thing," explaining that "one day she's better, one day she's takes 2 steps back."
Jo Dee adds that she "didn't feel comfortable being so far away not having the ability to get home fast in case things made a turn for the worst," so she opted to change her tour dates.
Messina's tour has been rescheduled for October. She's now slated to launch the trek in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on October 3rd.
Dates closer to home have not changed, and Messina is still slated to appear in Renfro Valley, Kentucky Friday night. Her full tour schedule is posted on her website.
