A Pay it Forward raffle has been organized, with all proceeds to benefit the Sandhills Crisis Intervention Program.
Renee Sullivan, who has utilized SCIP services, said she feels fortunate to be out of a domestic violence situation.
“Someone from SCIP stepped in and helped me and I just want to pay it forward,” Sullivan said.
To date, Sullivan has secured donations from Schmidt Motors, an oil change; Catalyst, a gift basket; and Farmers Cooperative Assocation/Cenex, a $50 gas card.
Raffle winners will be drawn on May 18th.
Raffle tickets are $1 each, or 6 for $5 .
Tickets can be purchased in the SCIP office, at 100 E. 11th St., Ogallala.
Additional raffle items also are sought and can be brought to the SCIP office.
Sullivan said she hopes the raffle not only raises much needed funds for the non-profit agency that helps victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, she also hopes it raises awareness of the problems, and raises hope to other victims.
‘I was in that situation, and got out. They can too,’ Sullivan said.
